LIVETEXT Electronic Teaching Portfolio Requirements . . .

·        Items in Check Point 1 are due prior to student teaching.

·      Items in Check Point 2 are due immediately after student teaching and prior to the Exit Interview.

·      You must have a digital photo on the introduction page.  In your introduction, welcome readers to your portfolio, introduce yourself, and invite readers to browse through your portfolio to view the knowledge, skills and dispositions you have acquired during your time at ECSU.

·      You must have a Philosophy of Education.  This was created in EDUC 201-Foundations of Education.  Of course, it may have changed since that time, so if need be, revise it.

·       You must include your Vitae or Resume’.  This can be copied/pasted in your portfolio or can be an attachment.

·       You must include a Pre-Reflection of why you have chosen teaching as a career.

·       Upon completion of your student teaching, you must include a Final Reflection of your student teaching experience.

·       All Evidence is to be uploaded or typed in Sections 1-6 (Reflective Practitioner, Advocator of Diversity, Effective Facilitator, Critical Thinker, Literate Technology User, and Competent Evaluator).  Please note the titles for each section – Do not delete them!  At least 4 quality pieces of evidence are required for each section before the exit interview (Please note topic headings in your template).

·       Each piece of evidence requires a reflection and related INTASC standards.

·       Evidence can be an image (digital or scanned – Items can be resized within Livetext.  Keep them Medium size or smaller), text that has been typed in or copied and pasted in, or an attachment such as .doc, .pdf, .xls, or .mdb

·       At the present time, we do not have video streaming capabilities, so the only video that could be added would be a movie peg (.mpeg) which would be from a digital camera.  This could be added as an attachment.

·       Each piece of evidence should reference the course # and course title in which it was created.  You should then reflect upon that piece of evidence referencing wordage from the INTASC Standards.

·       A new section has been added called “Content Knowledge, Professional Knowledge and Pedagogical Knowledge.”  This is where you attach your 2 student teaching evaluations and 1 summative evaluation from your student teaching supervisor.  A reflection of how these evaluations have benefited you as a future teacher would be most appropriate here.

·       Be selective about the evidence you put in your portfolio.  We want quality, not just quantity! Your portfolio is a reflection of you, the teacher, as a reflective practitioner.

·      Lastly, proofread your work for typo’s, spelling errors, and grammatical errors.  Buddy up with another student teacher and proofread each other’s work.
