(PLT)
-
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1998
-
At the September 4, 1997, State Board of Education Meeting, the Principles
of Learning and Teaching (PLT) tests were approved to replace the Professional
Knowledge (PK) test for licensure, effective July 1, 1998.
-
The PLT is administered in three versions: PLT-K-6 (Elementary); PLT -
5-9 (Middle Grades); and PLT - 7-12 (Secondary).
-
The Teacher Education Advisory Council voted to let students in the Special
Subject Areas--Art, Health & Physical Education, Music, and Special
Education--select which one of the three versions they will take.
-
Each version includes forty-five multiple-choice questions and six constructed-response
questions.
Minimum passing scores were set at the March 1998 State Board of
Education Meeting.
